ALDRICH, JAMES.
Born in Mattituck, Long Island, 1810; died in New York City,
1856. Mr. Aldrich founded, in 1840, the "Literary Gazette,"
in which most of his poems appeared. No volume of his poetry
was issued during his life, but his daughter, Mrs. Ely, published
in 1884 a small collection for private circulation.
